Classes Commence at Yirrama Primary School

In exciting news for residents, Yirrama Primary School located in the middle of Charlemont Rise Estate has welcomed staff and students for the first day of school for Term 1 2026.

Yirrama Primary School was chosen as the new school’s name following community and Traditional Owner group consultation. Yirrama (pronounced yi-rah-mah) is a Wadawurrung language word meaning ‘in the morning’. The school was previously known as Horseshoe Bend Primary School (temporarily).

The Primary School has spaces for 525 students from prep to grade 6, offering the local Charlemont Residents great education walking distance from home.

Along with the new Yirrama Community Hub (Kindergarten), as well as existing Kool Kidz Childcare Centre and Kumon Education Centre within the Charlemont Rise Shopping Centre, Charlemont Rise has a variety of early education options for young families.
