Charlemont Primary School Update
Exciting update regarding the upcoming Horseshoe Bend Primary School (temporary name). Soon to open right in the middle of Charlemont Rise estate!
The school has appointed Joel Riddle as its first Principal ahead of its opening in Term 1 of 2026.
Joel possesses 23 years of experience in government education and previously worked as the first Principal of Lollypop Creek Primary School in Werribee. He is excited to bring his experience in creating safe, caring, and inclusive learning environments to the Geelong region.
Designs for the new school have also been unveiled, with the school set to feature two learning neighbourhoods and an administration and library building.
To promote activity and sports amongst kids, the school will also include outdoor hard courts plus a sports field.
Additionally, the school will include a community hub featuring an indoor multi-use court, canteen, and arts and music spaces – to be used by the wider community as well as the school’s immediate students.
As construction continues to progress, the school’s foundations and core structure are beginning to take place – with structural steel and roofing complete.
Work is now underway to progress the school’s wall framing and cladding, with internal fit outs to follow.
This is great news for residents of Charlemont Rise who will soon be able to walk their kids to school and maybe stop off at the supermarket and grab a coffee on the way home!
